The simple things in life!

Tue Feb 27, 2007, 5:36 AM
  • Mood: Wow!
  • Listening to: Leonardo's crap attempt of a Boer accent
  • Reading: The DVD case
  • Watching: Blood diamond
  • Playing: Dice
  • Eating: Nothing
  • Drinking: My own spit
It all started with me waking up at 5 am. A feat I achieved for the second time this year and am proud of it! Did the usual: shower to kill the sleep, some wasabi to boost my alertness, prayers (I do pray, though I have lost most of my faith I still keep some handy... just in case). Then comes the cereal bowl filled with the generic goodness of rice bubbles. Oops, got another one of those black crud they pass as rice. Oh well food is food. In it goes in my mouth. Yummm. Then its once to the bus stop. This is when I hav my morning jog! I am lazy so this contributes to the little exercise I do (apart from walking a couple of kilometres!). Its pre-dawn, there is just enough light to make out what is infront of you. The sky has this warm soft light radiating through it. All is silence (not total silence, I need some noise!). I have the radio turned on in my mobile as I wait just as two other ppl had been doing before me. The bus comes on the dot. Its a first for me. Usually either the bus comes too early or too late for me. The bus is appreciably filled for an early morning one. There I was listening to the radio (the morning news) while watching the landscape around me change from building to park to building. I truly enjoyed watching the sky burst into colours. It went from a dull grey to flaming red and eventually a soft yellow glow. The city in the morning is quite a sight to see. Its nearly deserted and the glow of the incandescent lights coupled with the red glare of the rising sun provide a spectacular effect! The shadows of the early brids trailing along their masters, the tiny beacons of the rare cars in the road, and the songs of the birds triggered by the dawn. It was calm and comforting. For anyone wanting to enjoy the same experience, take the early morning bus atleast half an hour before dawn (in my case at 6.10 am). I truly enjoyed the relaxation offered by the simple things in life which I never new I missed until I couldn't have them.

"We enjoy most the things we miss!"
